Think roulette cannot be beaten?

Every single person the world over loves a challenge, and if you’re saying ‘no’ to that statement then you’re clearly lying!

We all want to beat the system, we want to feel like we’ve earnt our win, and not that we were handed something on a plate. Earning your dividends means that you can enjoy the spoils, and if you’re a casino player, be it online or in a bricks and mortar setting, roulette is the one game that everyone wants to master.

We’re not going to lie about it, figuring out the art of winning at roulette takes a lot of knowledge, hard work, and a small smidgen of luck, but there are many tips, hints, and even strategies out there which can put the odds much more firmly in your favour.

For instance, you only have to search the internet to come across a million ‘fool-proof’ and ‘fail safe’ strategies, but the bottom line is that if they were indeed what they promise to be, everyone would be winning and as a result, roulette would be an easy game. That’s not the case, as we know, and roulette is one of the hardest games out there.

To put it all into perspective, and give you a little help and advice, check out these potential strategies and helping hands, all with the aim in mind to push you towards roulette success.

Practice online first

It might sound ridiculous to have to pay out money to practice something, but this is the aim of the game in the long run. Practising with small bets online is the best way to hone your skills, learn the game inside out, and look at ways you can find holes in your current strategy, if you have one at all. Online roulette is massive nowadays, because not everyone has the facilities nearby to actually go to a bricks and mortar casino, and not everyone has the time to take an evening out of their busy schedule. Practising your skills online means you can develop them slowly, without losing a large amount of money in the process.

Get into the right mind-set

Heading to a quieter casino is a good way to do this, or again, heading online first. You need to be able to block out all the noise and concentrate on what you’re trying to do, and if you’re surrounded by noise and cacophony, you’re not going to be able to do that. Save the massive casinos for a time when you’re more confident, and you have more up your sleeve in terms of how to win.

Listen to your gut

You hear this so many times in general life, that you should always listen to your gut feelings, and when it comes to winning at roulette, the same thing applies. If you have a strong feeling, listen to it, and don’t change your mind! How many times in the past have you thought something, felt it quite strongly, only to have a niggling doubt enter your head, causing you to change your mind? Did the second option come true? Probably not; always listen to your gut, it’s there for a reason.

On top of this, when it comes to betting on colours, red or black, pick the one which calls out to you most and stick to it. Of course, there is a 50/50 chance each time, but maybe your intuition is trying to tell you something.

Be sensible

If you find yourself on a roll, don’t get too excited and go too far into your finances. When you’re learning the game, it’s easy to get caught up in a wave of excitement and before you know it, you’ll be betting with more than you can afford. Set yourself a budget and stick to it.

You need to make your bankroll sustainable, and that means if you want to play for longer, you need to decrease your bets as you go along, which will hopefully mean you win a little more each time; obviously your winnings are going to be a little decreased if your bet is, but anything is better than nothing whilst you’re honing your skills, or perhaps your craft.

It’s also important to know when to quit. The longer you play, obviously the more chance there is that you’re going to lose cash, so keep your profit aims low in the beginning.

Research the game

It’s important to understand the rules of roulette inside out, as well as all about bets, payouts, and odds. Different casinos have slight subtle differences in rules, so know about these before you head there.

Favour European wheels over American ones

It’s a universal thought in the roulette world that European wheels (e.g. the ones with a single 0) give you a higher chance of success than the American 00 type. Check out which wheel your particular casino is using, and make your decision accordingly.

Look at manufacturer wheel designs

We’re not suggesting you go into the design and building of every single roulette wheel, but there are subtle differences across the different company makes. For this reason, head online and do a little research into their make up etc. This will mean you develop a little insider knowledge on which wheels are the easiest ones to master and therefore win on, compared to some of the harder ones.

Look a little more deeply into the wheel itself

Yes, they are hypnotic when they spin, but you need to learn to read a wheel’s behaviour, and this will give you a better understanding of the wheel’s individual make up and attributions. This is going to take a little time to do, because learning about different wheels isn’t an overnight thing, but understanding is the key to winning.

Check out a few existing strategies

Now, if there was a fool proof winning system, everyone would win, and if there was one which just a few people knew about, they wouldn’t share it anyway. It is for this reason that you need to understand that there are strategies out there, but you need to know how to make them work for you. One system may not work for one person, but could be hugely successful for someone else.

One particular system which is easy to use once you figure it out is basically using your own eyes to predict where the ball is going to land. You need to watch the spin carefully, see how fast it goes, see how the wheel works, and look at the pattern. Once you figure it out, you can make your bet. Now, the problem with this particular system is that you need to find a casino which allows you to make a bet after the ball has been released, i.e. a late bet. Not every casino allows this, so check this out beforehand.

Another strategy system in place is about cross referencing. This basically works out the relationship which is forged between the numbers which come up, and the wheel itself, e.g. it’s physical make up. This is quite a complicated system, and it will require some reading up and research before you try and master it, but it’s success rate isn’t too bad overall. The outcome is basically to predict which number is going to come up once the ball has been released, using previous numbers to help come to a conclusion.

Whether you put it down to a spin of a wheel, a roll of a dice, or a chance happening, learning to master and win at roulette isn’t an easy game; having said that, we all love a challenge, right?
