Yes, the largest in the world, for a permanent circus anyway. Circus Circus is by far the most family oriented hotel casino on the Strip. It is located on the north end of the Strip and is easily identified by the huge pink dome. It is one of the older casinos on the Strip, built in 1968, and has been one of the favorite of families for years.
Perhaps the most popular draw of Circus Circus is the Adventure Dome, with the biggest concentration of carnival rides and roller coasters anywhere on the Strip. The midway has over 200 circus type games of skill and luck. It’s not just games though, the very cool “Horse-A-Round” bar is open at nights and was featured on “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.”
The other big non-gaming attraction is of course the World’s Largest Permanent Circus. This is a completely free show featuring death-defying stunts performed every half an hour from 11 a.m. until midnight. It is a very popular show with fans filling the 60 seats a full 15 minutes before it begins. It includes jugglers, unicyclists, trapeze artists, acrobats, and more. The act is incredibly, and the cheapest circus act anywhere, completely free. While there aren’t many seats and they do fill fast, there is plenty of standing room both around the stage and just outside of the midway. It plays several times a day so you should have no problem catching it.
